The Build
Every Session x Teak piece starts as a design our own crew rides before it goes into production. We laser cut the parts from high grade Baltic birch plywood, glue and assemble them by hand, then hand sand every edge until the lips and landings feel finished. Every obstacle is handcrafted start to finish in our Rochester, NY shop. Session Fingerboards is part of the Teak Tuning family, and the Session x Teak collaboration line is where our fingerboarding obstacles come from.
Materials and Wear
Birch structure with acrylic across every surface you'd actually ride. The acrylic scuffs as you use it, which is wear, not damage. Store it flat so the benches stay square to the table.
Care
Keep it dry and indoors. Plywood swells if it sits in moisture, so keep it off damp surfaces and wipe it with a dry cloth. Use a dry cloth on the acrylic and skip solvents and polish, they haze the finis
The Shred Ledge is a wooden fingerboard grind box, 27cms L long by 5.5cms tall, with a full matte acrylic mosaic across the top and both grind edges.
The mosaic is not a sticker. It's a matte acrylic surface in teal and cream that runs the entire top grinding surface, and it stays faster and more consistent than bare ply or paint as it breaks in. At 5.5cms it sits at exactly the same deck height as our Session kickers, so you can butt one against it and build a modular spot on a desk.
